Households living near Wembley Stadium could make hundreds of pounds by renting out their driveways for fans attending Taylor Swift concerts.

Footie and music-lovers looking to drive to this summer's big events at the London venue, including Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and the Champions League final, could face paying up to £278 for parking, according to a recent study.

With street parking mostly reserved for permit holders, many visitors will need to seek alternative parking options.

Wembley residents have therefore found a money-making opportunity: turning their private driveways into temporary parking lots.

JustPark, an online service where users can rent private parking spaces, in co-operation with online car dealership cinch, analysed the cost of parking for several major events due to take place at Wembley Stadium in 2024.

Data showed parking charges ranged widely depending on the event and location, with the cheapest available at £1.14 per hour.

Sam Sheehan, motoring editor at cinch, said: "Parking on an event day can be difficult in any location, never mind at Wembley Stadium.

"But some nearby residents are making some extra cash by renting a space they own: their driveways."

In a city notorious for expensive parking, this could provide a sensible solution for fans.

Mr Sheehan added: "London can be a pricey and tricky city to park in.

"In fact, with only 1.69 parking spaces for every 1,000 cars, your chances of finding somewhere to leave your car is less than 0.2%.

"Add in the fact it's an event day, with most of these spaces being reserve-only, your chances could be much slimmer."

Wembley's four privately-owned multi-storey car parks provide over 3,400 spaces.

But with a capacity of 90,000, parking is only available for roughly 4 per cent of attendees.

For mega-events like the Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, predicted to draw up to 115,000 fans, that number drops to 3 per cent.

For Swift's opening night on June 21, driveway parking starts at £14 for seven hours but can jump to £278 for premium spots.

For other events like the FA Cup Final on May 25, and the Champion's League final on June 1, driveway parking can be found for as little as £14 and £8 respectively.
