Pop star Jesy Nelson has paid a surprise visit to the theatre school in Romford she used to attend.

The former Little Mix member made an unexpected appearance at Rhodes Theatre School, much to the delight of the current pupils.

Jesy joined the students' rehearsal and shared some valuable advice about performing on stage.

Rhodes Theatre School said in an Instagram post: "We can't believe how lucky we are to have had a surprise visit from Jesy.

"Did you know that she used to come to Rhodes as a child?!

"Jesy joined our rehearsal and gave us advice about performing on stage.

"THANK YOU so much Jesy, you're the best and we loved spending time with you, we hope you will come back soon!"

Jesy, who was born and raised in Romford, mentioned during her visit that Rhodes Theatre School was where she first realised her desire to be a performer.

She rose to prominence as a part of Little Mix, a girl group formed during the eighth series of The X Factor in 2011.

The band had 17 top-ten hits and five number-one singles on the UK Singles Chart.

In 2019, Jesy made a documentary titled Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out about her struggles with body image, mental health, and online bullying, which won several awards.
