A "beautiful and thriving" pub has been named London's best pub.

The Audley Public House, in Mount Street, Mayfair, scooped a top prize at the National Pub & Bar Awards 2024, officially being recognised as the best pub in the capital - and one of 13 named the best in their regions.

The National Pub & Bar Awards brought together 94 pubs and bars from across the UK, all of which had been recognised as the best in their county in April.

From these, the 13 regional winners were declared at a ceremony at 30 Euston Square in London.

Nottingham’s Castle Rock Brewery claimed the title Pub Group of the Year, while north London's The Blues Kitchen was awarded Bar Group of the Year.

Cheshire Cat Pubs & Bars’ Fitzherbert Arms grabbed the inaugural Tyrrells Tyrrellbly Good Taste Award.

The Audley Public House, located on the corner of South Audley Street and Mount Street, is a traditional neighbourhood pub, bringing together history and contemporary art in its design.

Open seven days a week from 11am, the bar is a star attraction in this award-winning setting.

A 4.5 star rating from reviewers on TripAdvisor - who rave about the pub's atmosphere and food - shows that it is more than deserving of the win.

One regular wrote in April: "This is a great London pub in Mayfair, London.

"I must have visited it over the years about 15 times.

"Still got that nice feeling of a London pub but in an upmarket part of London."

Others have called the Audley Public House an "absolute gem" and commented on the "sublime" food.

Another visitor said: "Such a beautiful thriving pub.

"Great to pop in for a quick drink.

"Really like it here.

"Very busy and a good atmosphere."
