Residents of a housing estate in waited two months for rubbish to be cleared which had not been collected since Christmas.
Miss O'Hara, not her real name, lives in Bernard Shaw House, in Knatchbull Road, Stonebridge.
She said that uncollected waste got so bad the wind blew it into a children's playground where wild animals scavenged the bags.
Despite multiple complaints to their housing representatives at Brent Council, both individually and as groups, nothing had been done.
Following intervention from the BKTimes, the site was finally cleared on February 17.
Miss O'Hara told reporters in early February: "Currently speaking, we have waste bins that have been full since Christmas! All our waste bins have been so full for months that residents have resorted to pile everything on top of one another."
A flooded pothole in the entry to the outdoor playground also blocked waste collectors from entering safely into the premises, which she said had led to a "crisis where only the nearest placed waste to the gate is often collected and nothing else."
"Our complaints continue to fall on deaf ears and we all feel belittled," she added.
"Residents are also disheartened that they are unable to take their children out to play outdoors due to the wind blowing the garbage across the playground from the wild foxes, stray cats, birds and rats ravaging open the waste.
"We all have hope that this never ending nightmare of ours will end soon.
"I hope to see a day where we can go back to having our bins emptied and returned to their designated spots on a weekly basis like it always use to be; as well as to a day where I can hear the sounds of children playing and enjoying their outdoor playground on their holidays once again."
A Brent Council spokesperson said "flooding made it difficult for the bins to be collected".
They added: “We would like to thank residents of Bernard Shaw for their patience whilst this was resolved and encourage any resident who has had a missed bin collection to let us know through the reporting tool on our website.”
