Adventurous animal-lovers can now spend a summer night in London Zoo during open evenings planned in June and July.
Tickets are going on sale for adults only for access to the zoo’s 15,000 animals away from the daytime crowds as the sun goes down.
Tours are being laid on to explore the Regent’s Park complex with giant animal-themed games such as “Paws and Crosses” or an interactive “Zoo-niversity Challenge” animal gameshow.
Snap-happy visitors can use the 360-degree camera booth for the ultimate group selfie, or watch Asiatic lions Bhanu and Arya let out their evening roars, or Sumatran tiger cubs Crispin and Zac play in the summer dusk.
They can find out what animals get up to after dark on the “Birds and the Bees” tour, unravelling the mysteries of sex in the animal kingdom.
But visitors can also upgrade to stay overnight and sleep within roaring distance of the lions at nine cabins nestled in the heart of the zoo.
The Zoo Nights support the Zoological Society of London, the charity whose scientists and conservationists are restoring Britain’s wildlife. Tickets cost £21.50 and can be booked online at the londonzoo.org web address.
