Patients have had their say on Brent’s GP surgeries as part of a survey conducted on behalf of the NHS.
Many surgeries across the borough scored way above the national average of 71% for the overall patient experience, but others fell short of this number.
Best performing surgeries
Church End Medical Centre, on Mayo Road, tied as one of the highest in the borough – 87% – for overall patient satisfaction.
Specifically 92% found the receptions at the GP practice helpful and 96% said the healthcare professional they saw was good at treating them with care and concern during their last appointment.
However 67% of people found it easy to get through to the GP practice by phone and 42% said they usually get to see or speak to their preferred GP when they would like to.
The Tudor House Medical Centre, Chalkhill Road, likewise had an overall 87% patient satisfaction rating.
Specifically 88% found the receptionist at the GP helpful and 94% said the healthcare professional they saw was good at treating them with care ad concern during their last appointment.
But 58% of people found it easy to get through to the GP practice by phone and 34% said they usually get to see or speak to their preferred GP when they would like to.
Cricklewood Health Centre also had an overall 87% patient satisfaction rating.
At this GP 84% found the receptionists helpful and 92% said the professional they saw was good at treating them with care and concern during their last appointment.
A high 77% found it easy to get through to the GP by phone and 52% said they usually get to see or speak to their preferred GP when they would like to.
Willesden Green Surgery, Anson Road, had a 86% overall patient satisfaction rating.
From the people surveyed, 89% found the receptionists helpful and 90% said the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to was good at treating them with care and concern.
Unlike the surgeries listed above with lower ratings, 86% found it easy to get to the GP by phone and 60% usually get to see or speak to their preferred GP when they would like to.
Mapesbury Medical Group, Shoot-Up-Hill, also had a 86% overall patient satisfaction rating.
An extremely high 99% found the receptionists at the GP helpful and 82% said the professional they saw was good at treating them with care and concern.
Many – 86% – found it easy to get through to the GP by phone, but 47% said they usually get to see or speak to their preferred GP when they would like to.
Worst performing surgeries
Ellis Practice, Chalkhill Road, had the lowest patient satisfaction rating in Brent with 37%.
Just 51% found the receptionists helpful - way below the national 82% average and 71% said the professional they saw was good at treating them with care and concern.
Only 14% said it was easy to get through to the GP by phone and 20% usually get to see or speak to their preferred GP when they would like to.
Kilburn Park Medical Centre, Albert Road, had a 43% patient satisfaction rating.
Specifically 68% found the receptionists helpful and 69% said the professional they saw was good at treating them with care and concern.
Patients said 46% were able to get through to their practice by phone, but just 18% get to see or speak to their preferred GP when they would like to.
GP Pathfinders Clinics at Hazeldene Medical Centre, Wyld Way, had a 47% patient satisfaction rating.
Just 59% found the receptionists helpful and 66% said the professional they saw was good at treating them with care and concern.
The survey shows 42% found it easy to get through to the practice by phone and 50% usually get to see or speak to their preferred GP when they would like to.
Burnley Practice, Robson Avenue, had 53% of patients satisfied.
Specifically, 69% found the receptionists helpful and 71% said the professional they saw was good at treating them with care and concern.
A low 35% found it easy to get through to the practice by phone and just 24% usually get to see or speak to their preferred GP when they would like to.
Uxendon Crescent Surgery in Wembley had 53% of patients satisfied.
At this practice 76% found the receptionist helpful and 64% said the professional they saw was good Just 31% found it easy to get through to the practice by phone and 28% usually get to see or speak to their preferred GP when they would like to.
