Work on a regeneration project due for completion this summer has not even started.
Brent Council’s website said work to “transform” Carlton Value into a tree-lined avenue with improved transportation links was due to be finished by summer 2023
But one Twitter user and South Kilburn resident has pointed out that work is yet to even begin.
The project is part of the council’s 15-year ‘South Kilburn masterplan’, a regeneration of the area which was “half way through” completion in 2016.
This programme includes creating 2,400 new homes and improving public spaces.

Carlton Vale Boulevard has *completion* stated as summer 2023 on Brent's regeneration website .
We are nearing the end of summer already and no works have started? Is there any update?https://t.co/TzEVlW7Jdf https://t.co/w379bWC2Tq
Brent Council has now said that the Carlton Vale Boulevard project has been delayed by a number of unspecified “external factors”.
The authority added that the works will take place before the end of the entire South Kilburn regeneration project – although it did not give a specific date.
The Carlton Vale project’s stated aims include improving active transport links, lighting, street furniture and artwork, as well as planting new trees.
Cllr Shama Tatler, cabinet member for regeneration, planning and growth, said: “A number of external factors mean that work has not started for this part of the project, but we are hoping for a solution soon so that we can continue to improve an already thriving area.
“The works will take place before the end of the regeneration project.”
