A new night bus route could be introduced connecting central London to areas in Brent, Harrow, Ealing and Hillingdon.
Transport for London (TfL) has proposed to create a new N518 route which would run between Trafalgar Square and Ruislip station, via Wembley, Sudbury Hill and Rayners Lane.
It follows the alignment of the existing N18 which goes between Trafalgar Square and Barham Park Roundabout, via Westminster and Brent.
The proposed night bus would run on all nights and operate every 30 minutes on weeknights and every 15 minutes on weekends.
TfL says that demand at weekends has increased by 4 per cent above the pre-pandemic average. If it were to be brought to life, the N518 would replace the N18 leg between Sudbury and Harrow Road Station and Trafalgar Square.
It would also increase the frequency of the N18 leg between Harrow Weald High Road and Trafalgar Square, TfL has said.
Since the suspension of the weekend-only night bus route 114, there is no night bus routes in the Ruislip area. By introducing the N518, Ruislip will have a new service.
New direct links would be created at night between Ruislip and locations such as Rayners Lane, Northolt Park, Sudbury Hill, Wembley, Harrow Road, Kensal Green, Harlesden, Maida Hill, Paddington and central London.
A consultation has launched as TfL hopes to gather the public’s thoughts by March 3 this year.
