A floral tribute has been set up near the scene of a crash in which a motorcyclist received fatal injuries.
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a man died on January 28, a little over three weeks after a crash in West Hendon Broadway (A5) near Welsh Harp Reservoir on January 5.
The rider's Kawasaki motorbike was travelling north when it collided with an oncoming black Mercedes turning right at traffic lights into Cool Oak Lane before crashing into a lamp post.
The rider was taken to hospital in a critical condition and died later that month.
The driver of the Mercedes was not injured. They stopped to be interviewed and were not arrested.
Motorists travelling past the crash site have since noticed a tribute at a lamp post by the Cool Oak Lane junction.
Attached are two pictures of the victim with a motorbike, with a helmet and lantern left beside the post.
The Metropolitan Police have not named the victim.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash continue, with an appeal for any witnesses, including those with footage of the incident, to get in touch.
Anyone with information is asked to call the serious collision investigation unit at Alperton on 0208 246 9820, or to call 101, quoting reference CAD 6776/05JAN24.
