The Big Brother house will be moved from its current location because "lairy" canal boat users keep disrupting filming.
The reality show house is currently located at Garden Studios, near Harlesden, but producers are now seeking a new setting.
According to a TV insider, producers were surprised to find that their waterfront setting in north west London was frequently disturbed by rowdy behaviour from passing canal boaters.
The insider told The Sun: "During filming of the most recent series’ they found that quite a few barge and boat users on the canal were pulling up and being quite lairy which disrupted filming.
"Of all the issues to arise, this was not on their radar.
"In fact, the bosses thought filming in studios next to a waterway would be a bonus."
The bosses built the entrance to the Big Brother house right next to the canal bank, with the hope that housemates could be brought up to the front "James Bond" style.
But the source said the idea was soon abandoned when producers realised "it wasn’t a river but a canal with a maximum speed limit of 4mph".
Producers are also seeking more space to rebuild the Big Brother house for its potential future series.
Though ITV has not officially confirmed whether they will commission more series, the network recently issued casting calls for contestants.
Paul Mortimer, ITV’s head of reality TV, said: "I can’t imagine that we’re in it just to do two, six-week runs across 2023 and 2024.
"This is the start of it — so just watch this space."
Previously, the 'social experiment' reality show was filmed at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire, renowned for its association with programmes like The Crown, Strictly Come Dancing, and The Chase.
Big Brother moved to ITV in October 2023, after concluding its previous long-term stint with Channel 5 in November 2018.
This isn't the first time the reality show faced disruptions at the new Garden Studios.
A security alert was triggered by a YouTuber flying a drone over the location in August last year.
The man insisted his stunt was "fair game" as he was on a public highway, and refused to leave the area.
