A man has been arrested on suspicion of having a gun outside Kingsbury Tube station.
Police were called to the station just before 1pm this afternoon (May 7) to reports of a man with a gun.
Armed officers used distraction devices and a Taser while responding to the report.
A man was arrested and subsequently sectioned under the Mental Health Act after a medical examination in hospital.
Kingsbury station has been closed following the incident.
Ch Insp Guy Ellwood, who covers policing in Brent, said: "Officers responded swiftly to reports of a man with a firearm outside Kingsbury underground station.
He added: "We know this incident will have been concerning to those who witnessed it and thank the public for their assistance in enabling us to bring the matter to a safe conclusion."
