This bank holiday weekend is set to begin with a wet start as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain.
The weather warning is in place tomorrow (Saturday) from 6am until 1pm, and covers large areas of London, East and South East England.
The weather warning covers all of south and east London as well as some areas of north London.
Early tomorrow the day is expected to begin with spells of heavy rain, which could affect travel over the start of the bank holiday weekend.
Currently the UK is being hit by Storm Lilian, affecting parts of the North of England, bringing strong winds and heavy rain, with heavy rain expected to hit by early tomorrow in the south east of England and London.
The Met Office has also advised that some areas could experience flooding, affecting homes and businesses as well as some roads which could disrupt travel.
Tomorrow’s wet weather may also affect power supplies with some areas potentially experiencing power cuts.
Tomorrow's rain is likely to last for several hours before clearing eastwards, with the afternoon expected to be clearer for people in London.
During those few hours of rain, most places could see rainfall between 15 and 30 mm, with people being advised to check before travelling tomorrow.
Spells of rain, heavy at times, developing on early Saturday will persist for several hours, before clearing away eastwards during the late morning or early afternoon. 15 to 30 mm of rain is likely to fall widely and as much as 50 to 70 mm rain could accumulate in a few places.
