Nine children were among those rushed to hospital after a chemical leak at a Wembley swimming pool.
Police were called to Vale Farm Sports Centre in Watford Road at around 1.40pm this afternoon (August 29).
It comes after a suspected chlorine leak at the pool, which forced the entire sports centre - 150 people in total - to be evacuated.
Firefighters carried out a sweep of the building where a chlorine leak was found in a learner pool on the ground floor of the three-storey building.
London Ambulance Service has confirmed that it treated nine children and two adults at the scene before taking them to hospital. Their condition is not known at this time.
Vale Farm Sports Centre said on its website: "Please be aware that Vale Farm Sports Centre is closed due to unforeseen circumstances."
Firefighters have since ventilated the area of Vale Farm Sports Centre affected by a chlorine leak.
The fire brigade said crews monitored the levels of fumes until there were no elevated readings, with the incident stood down at around 3.45pm.
The centre reopened at around 4pm, but the swimming pool is not expected to reopen until tomorrow.
Roads were closed around the sports centre, but have since reopened.
Two fire engines, two fire rescue units and around 20 firefighters from Northolt, Wembley and Euston fire stations all attended the scene.
It is understood that no elevated readings were found in the atmosphere, so there is no danger to those living nearby. The cause of the leak is now under investigation.
According to the London Ambulance Service, ambulance crews, incident response officers and members of the hazardous area response team (HART) were sent to the scene.
