A branch of the Northern line will be closed this weekend due to building work at a station.
Transport for London (TfL) has shut the Edgware branch of the Northern line several times this year between Golders Green and Edgware due to building work at Colindale station.
And commuters are warned that this will happen once again this weekend, from Saturday (September 7) to Sunday (September 8).
This means Golders Green, Brent Cross, Hendon Central, Colindale, Burnt Oak and Edgware underground stations will all be closed.
Shutdowns already took place from April 2 to April 11, on June 8 and June 9, June 15 and 16 and June 29 and 30.
There were also plans for more disruption between July 25 to July 28, but this four-day closure was scrapped, as it was decided the work could take place over a shorter period this weekend.
Anyone wishing to travel during this time is advised to use the replacement N1 bus service between Golders Green and Canons Park, which travels via Brent Cross, Hendon Central, Colindale, Burnt Oak and Edgware.
However night journeys do not serve Cannons Park.
Road closures in place
Ever since Colindale station shut on June 7 for its major upgrade, people in the area have had to rely on alternative forms of transport.
However there is another aspect to consider when getting around in Colindale this weekend due to a road closure at Colindale Avenue between 10pm and 5am on Friday (September 6) and between 10pm and 9am on Saturday and Sunday.
The replacement NL1 bus will not serve the Colindale Avenue bus stop at these times.
Also at Burnt Oak, buses will serve stops in Orange Hill Road instead of Watling Avenue.
Why is this happening?
Colindale station is receiving a major upgrade after TfL secured £43.1 million from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund to upgrade both Colindale and Leyton stations.
It means they will have step-free access for the first time.
TfL said the station, in its current state, was projected to reach passenger capacity by 2026.
Under the new plans, the 1960s entrance will be replaced with a new building, a spacious ticket hall and step-free access.
The station was closed from June 7 and is scheduled to reopen in December - although locals fear it could take longer.
However, TfL says it is still on track to reopen by December.
