There are few better ways to spend a Sunday than feasting in one of London’s top hotels right in the heart of the City.
A feast is the perfect way to describe Sundays in Millie’s Lounge at The Ned – with choice, charm and flavours to die for.
Ned’s Feast is currently priced at £100pp or £165pp with free-flowing champagne, with bookings in December and from January set to rise slightly.
There’s limitless lobster, oyster, roasts and all the trimmings on the side – including fish, salads and desserts.
You can go up to the buffet as many times as you fancy in your two-hour time slot – and it’s constantly stocked full, looking completely fabulous, and everything tastes so delicious.
I went to try out the Feast with my boyfriend on a cold and gloomy Autumnal Sunday and it seriously brightened up our day – apart from when we practically couldn’t move to leave because we were so full!
Millie’s Lounge, which is set in the grand banking hall, is grand, warm, lively and spacious with a live band which gave the room a hearty atmosphere and a relaxing feel.
We sat down and after having our champagne glasses filled, we didn’t want to waste any time before indulging in the array of food.
We went for a first course where I had some avocado toast, devilled eggs and a selection of salads.
In the next course my boyfriend had rock oysters, lobster and lobster mac and cheese – which is a new special just added to the menu.
We couldn’t believe how fresh it all was, and that such high quality and tasty foods are included in the price – and on offer for an all-you-can-eat buffet!
The next course consisted of a roast and all the trimmings – Yorkshire puddings bigger than my face, roast potatoes, roast vegetables, and a choice of chicken, beef and pork.
I also snuck a bit of poached salmon in this course too because it looked so good.
I must admit we had to take a bit of a break at this point – but still got to milk all the perks by putting the world to rights and sipping on champagne.
When it was nearly time to go, we popped back over to the buffet for desserts, and I’d like to think and hope this is one of the few, or only, times in my life where there will be about 10 different sweet treats on my plate at once.
When there’s anything and everything from Biscoff cheesecake, to berry Eton mess and rocky road, it’s not easy to resist – plus, it’d be rude not to try it all, wouldn’t it?!
We practically rolled out of The Ned – with full stomachs but also very full hearts, having spent our afternoon indulging, chatting, drinking and admiring the room we were in.
And, if this wasn’t enough, Sunday’s Unlimited Prime Rib is launching in Lutyens Grill at The Ned from November 3.
Treat yourself to unlimited 44-day-aged rare breed prime rib, served with all the roast dinner trimmings – Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, and more.
Start with oysters, steak tartare, or lobster, and finish with a choice of desserts.
This set menu is £100 – and is next on my list to try.
