A 20-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after a stabbing near Farringdon station.
Police were initially called to reports of a moped crash in Back Hill at around 9.35pm on October 18.
Officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
While treating the man for injuries from the crash, medics discovered he had been stabbed.
He was taken to the hospital where his condition was assessed as life threatening.
An investigation has been launched to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
Officers are working to establish how the man sustained the stab wounds and whether the crash and stabbing are linked.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
The police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
