Just one in five streets in the borough will be gritted as the nation prepares a cold snap that could bring snow.
Brent Council is advising people to take care as financial constrains means it will treat priority roads which make up 20 per cent in the borough.
The priority roads are treated first and if possible ‘heavily used’ public areas around town centres, transport hubs such as outside train and tube stations, police stations and outside Northwick Park Hospital may be gritted.
There are grit bins located around the borough which residents can use on pavements but not their own private footways.
